I'm new to yoga. Would I be getting in over my head?
You start where you are. Just be present,
take each posture one breath at a time. Be prepared to discover new things
about yourself in each class. We furnish props to help you with postures.
Do I have to change the way I eat?
No. However, as you begin your practice,
you will naturally see healthier habits develop. Note: please limit food
intake prior to class. For large meals, allow three to four hours; small
meals or snacks, one to two hours.
Can I come to any class?
At this time all classes are open. Try different types and different times.
How long is a class, and how much does it cost?
A class lasts eight weeks, beginning the day you start. A single class is $15. Six classes, $70 ($11.66 per class). 12 classes, $95 ($7.90 per class). 18 classes, $110 ($6.11 per class). Eight-week packages are available. Classes are 45 minutes, 60 minutes
and 75 minutes.
Will Yoga interfere with my religion?
The intention of yoga is to quiet the
mind, relax and strengthen the body and to open the heart (spirit).
Yoga is a path of discovery that can facilitate a deepening of any
spiritual practice, whichever religion/non-religion you choose.
Should I practice at home?
Absolutely. A daily asana and meditation practice can help to improve
almost every aspect of everyday life. Attending class regularly will
empower your personal practice and provide guidance from a knowledgeable
instructor.
What is considered appropriate attire for a class?
T-shirts, tights and bike shorts are okay.
Comfortable clothing that does not restrict movement. No shoes are
worn in the studio. Please do NOT use cologne or perfume, which could
interfere with breathing exercises or cause allergic reactions.
